The Fall Quarter (September–November 2021) focuses on acts of worship and praise that celebrate both God’s divine attributes and God’s actions on behalf of the whole created order. The lessons of the Fall quarter draw on several examples of biblical people who celebrate God, psalms that give thanks for God’s benevolent actions, and visions of praise for God’s work in establishing an eternal realm of justice and righteousness. The first unit, “God’s People Offer Praise,” has four lessons looking at Moses and Miriam’s songs of praise for God’s mighty acts, at King David dancing before the ark, at “blind” Bartimaeus glorifying God for healing, and at early believers responding to the Pentecost event by entering into a life of praise for God’s redemption through Jesus. Unit II, “Called to Praise God,” contains five lessons exploring psalms that call God’s people to celebrate what God has done. “Visions of Praise,” the third unit, presents four lessons that share John’s visions of celebration for God’s ultimate victory in establishing a realm of justice and peace.

Ephesians 3:14-21 ESV
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
